Employees include a CAD specialist (Maggie Holseberg), and a professional office manager (Kandy Bennett).  Although the office may seem small, there is no limit to our capability.  Our staff has the experience to handle any size building, any technology, and any challenge.  We are very comfortable with the most difficult of building renovations including historic building renovations.  Charleston Engineering has provided services to many public and private clients for projects in South Carolina and around the country including professional licensure in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennesee and Virginia.

All of our engineers are active in suggesting Green Building design approaches whenever possible. Sustainable design is an important element that we believe exemplifies principles of good stewardship of our natural resources. This level of design is achieved through utilization of the U.S. Green Building Council LEED and ASHRAE’s “Standard 90.1 Energy Standard for Buildings”. Selection of equipment and systems for buildings not only include a life cycle evaluation type approach which considers first cost, energy efficiency, maintenance and reoccuring costs, but also many years of experince with MEP products including new technology offered today. Our office can help select the best equipment and systems to fit a building owner's needs.

Charleston Engineering recently won honorable mention (third place) in an international design competition for ASHRAE Technology Awards.  The details of the project were published in the ASHRAE Journal, and entitled "Hot, Humid Lab Hood Facility".

Charleston Engineering supports ACE Mentors of Greater Charleston. The Charleston ACE program mentors high school students and provides college scholarships in the fields of Architecture, Construction, and Engineering.
